DROUGHT ALERT 01/01/2011 In compliance with the Groundwater Management plan for Polk and San Jacinto Counties and according to the Palmer Drought Severity Index, Polk and San Jacinto Counties have experienced a moderate to extreme drought for eleven consecutive months (December 2010-October 2011). We ask that all conserve water until we receive sufficient rainfall to break this period of dry weather. For ways to conserve water go to WaterIQ.org provided by the Texas Water Development Board.
